Someone Special; Zechariah (Zeke)

I have such wonderful children; every last one of them. I want to take at least one day a week and just focus on one of my children. Telling you a little about them and maybe do a little bit of bragging. A mama's allowed that, right??

So, today I want to tell you about my 3rd child and 2nd son Zechariah...(or Zeke as we call him..)

I see so much of myself as a child in Zeke. He feels things so deeply which means he gets his feelings hurt alot. He also feels quite a few things aren't fair which was me as a child.. I am trying to use the similarities in a way that will help me be a better mama to him.

He loves to do magic tricks on all of us and you can always find him on the couch with a book in his hand.

He is very smart and bright. Math and most things in our homeschool come easy for him. He doesn't have to work very hard to get it all right.

He enjoys being with his daddy. And goofing with him.

He has an amazing ability to reason things out and understand.

About a month ago he came to me and his daddy and asked us if he could give the family a message from the bible because he wanted to see if the L-rd was calling him to be a Pastor. He did an excellent job. He was engaging and asked all sorts of questions to the littles getting them involved and making sure they were learning.

He is also a great cook! When it's his day to make our meals he makes such tasty things!

Zechariah will be 13 in June.

He is a blessing and I am blessed to have him as my son!

14 years ago today...

Today 14 years ago my first son was born. Elohim had given me a name for him that he may be like this king of old; righteous and bringing his people back to the ways of G-d! We named him Josiah. His middle name is Benjamin which means son of the right hand and this has proven true for my dh and his firstborn son..

Josiah is such a wonderful young man. These past months I have seen such growth in him. He is wonderful with my littles. So tender and sweet.. He is currently volunteering at a horse farm where he helps with special needs children. He loves it and tells me so many wonderful stories every time I pick him up! Each time he goes he gets up early and heats up some chilli for himself and his daddy for lunch. What a servants heart he has!
There have been some bumps in the road this past year but knowing that we are making progress in getting beyond them has meant so much to me! Seeing the changes taking place in his heart has been rewarding for us all! :)

Happy Birthday Josiah! We love you very much!

Combating the Commandant of Confusion..(Bibleman DVD) a review..

Bibleman and his sidekicks are at the Bible adventure training academy. They are performing a play in front of a live audience.
The Commandant of Confusion tries to steal their secret weapon; which is the Bible. He doesn't steal their secret weapon though as Bibleman defeats him. Bibleman uses the armor of God; speaking scriptures which are his power source. When the Commandant of Confusion hears the scriptures they weaken him but empower Bibleman.
Bibleman then talks more of Jesus and what they can do to be saved. He leads some children in a prayer accepting Jesus into their hearts.

This DVD is full of adventure, G-d's word and even the salvation message!
My children loved it and have watched it many times. It has become a favorite in our DVD library!

Startling Beauty...a book review..

Startling Beauty; my journey from rape to restoration by Heather Gemmen was an awesome story.
Heather is raped in her home with her two young children sleeping and her dh not at home. They live in a predominantly black neighborhood full of drugs in a bad area of the city and have befriended most of their neighbors reaching out to them with Christ's love.

She believes it to be her dh who has turned on the light as he is coming to bed but as she looks out from under the covers she discovers a strange black man in her bedroom. He then rapes her while threatening her with a knife.

She tells her story as she tries to cope with the horrible thing that has happened to her and as she tries to forgive her rapist. She soon discovers she is pg. She decides against abortion and she and her dh bravely decide to keep the baby.

This story clearly shows the true restorative work of Elohim! How He can turn any ugly thing in our lives into Startling Beauty!
