Kian Adley is 16 days old...
Often after he eats even after I have burped him he gets squirmy and fussy and acts like he needs burped again. He does this off and on all night and thruout the day..
He just isn't a happy baby boy..
Does anyone have any ideas on things I can try??
If i remember right with one of our other babies we gave them some drops that were for gassy babies and it seemed to help a bit. Could try that again..

Would love any tips any of you have??

  1. for us the only thing that helped was cutting out all dairy. it took about a week to see the difference, but what a difference it made! I have to be very diligent even now and he's 13 months old!

  2. Not sure if you have taken him in for an adjustment at your chiropractor, but maybe his is out of alignment from the birth?

  3. I have to second both of the above comments. My little one is allergic to dairy though my milk (including rice and soy) and was very gassy for the first few months till we figured this out. Now I can do goats milk and cows milk yogurt and cheese but nothing else. Also, after we took her to the chiropractor, her "attitude" changed greatly! She was posterior and had her head cocked to the side so I think she was just "out-a-wack" and the adjustment helped a lot! Hope he gets to feeling better soon!

  4. I also had to change my diet for fussy babies before. My last little one could not tolerate chocolate or beans. Once I cut those out of my diet, she was a calm and happy baby. :-)

    Best wishes! :-)

  5. The drops you are talking about are Mylicon. I used to drink Chamomile tea before nursing and it helped to calm my fussy one. We also tried Hyland's chamomile tablets at one point with him.

  6. I agree with all of the advice so far. :-) One trick a family friend showed me (she had 4 kids in 4 years and was so wonderful with babies) was to lay the baby face down with tummy across my knees. Put one hand on top of the babies head and another on baby's back and move your legs very gently from side to side. My daughter was very fussy after eating and this calmed her down frequently. She was a VERY fussy baby as a newborn, but she outgrew it by about 3 months thank goodness.

Give Kian a snuggle from me.

  7. A couple of ideas for you to try...

how about chamomile tea ...add some breastmilk or formula (and spoon of sugar sometimes helps).

Also you can try fennel tea...just put the fennel seeds in a tea ball ...steep then make tea...with or without breastmilk/formula/sugar.

I am not a sugar pusher, but the sweethess helps them to *like* it and both help to reduce the fussiness. We used it with our wee ones.

Of course prayer is the first place to start...have you had the elders pray for him?
